Christianity Explored

Christianity Explored helps people answer three questions that cut to the heart of Christianity:  Who is Jesus?  Why did he come?  What does he demand of those who want to follow him?  By focusing on Mark’s Gospel, Christianity Explored aims to return people to the magnetic yet challenging gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is a relaxed and informal way of introducing people to Jesus for the first time and no previous knowledge is assumed of those who come on the course.  As well as relating the gospel faithfully to non-Christians, the course equips Christians too with a wealth of training exercises designed to inspire, encourage and inform.  For more information, call John Foster, III at 858-3951.

Discipleship Explored

Coming February 2009, for anyone who wants to make the most of their Christian life.  Discipleship Explored offers a review of St. Paul's extraordinary letter to the church in Phillipi and it is absolutely applicable to our personal walk with Chirst.  The 8 week course helps participants explore the meaning of Paul's words, "For me, to live is Christ and to die is to gain.  Each session has a Group Discussion, a short study in Philippians, a short talk, and a further Group Discussion.  For more information, please call John Foster, III at 858-3951.

 A Note From our Pastor

Jesus taught, "Love God completely and love your neighbor as you would like to be loved."  When asked by a skeptic to explain who is our neighbor, Jesus told the story of a good man from the countryside of Samaria.  It teaches us that everyone is our neighbor.  Before he returned to Heaven, Jesus said, "Go everywhere and announce the Message of God's good news to one and all."  At. St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, we are not perfect, but we seek to follow Jesus' teachings on the love of God and humanity and we seek to share the Message of Good News.  As pastor and priest to this wonderful church family, let me invite you to join us for worship, call us for prayer, or just drop by for a visit.

Fr. Michael Ridgill

St. Bartholomew's is . . .
Relevant - to our daily lives!
Friendly - because sometimes we want people to know us and care about us.
Fun - you can have fun and worship God!
Orthodox - the Church gets its authority from Holy Scripture, interpreted by church tradition and God-informed reason always centered on the message of Christ as our Savior and Lord.

Welcoming - people from different walks of life and levels of faith are warmly welcome at St. Bartholomew's Parish.  Without reservation, everyone is welcome here.  We seek to incorporate into our daily lives an understanding that the church exists for all people, that absolutely everyone needs the saving grace of Jesus Christ and that He changes lives, defeats sin and addictions and reconciles us to God and to each other.  Wherever you are in your faith, come seek and you will find the reconciling love of Jesus Christ.

St. Bartholomew's Church is . . . Exactly what you are looking for!
